Non-Discrimination

All staff, including instructional staff and support staff, with no exclusion, are mandatory reporters of any suspected child abuse or neglect. Coaches and volunteers are included in this mandatory reporting group. Staff must personally report their suspicions to Child Welfare.  Administration or counselors may assist staff in making those reports, but cannot substitute by proxy any report.  All staff are expected to annually complete a training to understand this duty to report through DHS, and must maintain records of that training.

In addition, all staff as noted above must report suspicion of sexual harassment to the Title IX coordinator, which includes interactions that are staff to staff, staff to student, or student to student.  Interactions that are reportable include digital forms of communication.

In all cases of reporting, staff are not a decision-maker regarding the validity of any suspicions, the management of any investigation, nor the results of any investigation.
