Communications Planning

The Salida School District's Strategic Communications Plan reflects a compilation of staff perception data, and a communications audit conducted during the ‘24-’25 school year which included listening sessions with community members, retirees, students, teachers, and board members, as well as the latest research in education communication.

The plan is designed to unlock our district’s identity and leverage our brand in a way that creates advocates for our schools, which anchor the values and sense of belonging that define us as a community. The communications plan is designed to define who we are as an education community and empower our people to tell their story about why people continue to select Salida Schools for their children. With a philosophy of knowing every student by name, by need, and by connected adult, the district’s six schools serve over 1300 students from pre-K through 12th grade and are the heart of our region.

The Strategic Communications Plan

The plan will be reviewed annually.

The goal of this Strategic Communications Plan is to

● Empower our people to tell their story
● Create and share accessible, transparent knowledge
● Create consistency and pride
● Build and sustain community and support

It will support the mission and vision of the district:

Mission: To strive to provide a safe environment for all students and staff. Meaningful opportunities and innovative educational programs shall be provided for all students so that they reach their learning potential, including the attainment of content standards, through partnerships between home, school, and the community.

Vision of Success: To know each student by name, by need, and by connected adult in order to help them become future citizens who use rationale to manage their emotions to pursue their dream of success in a supportive manner of community.

NewMeasures Staff Perception Survey - Fall 2024 - the data from this survey was reviewed by the committee that generated the final Strategic Communications Plan. Another staff perception survey will be conducted in the fall of 2025, after which time trends will begin to emerge and data will be published for public review.
