Art by Nora Jacob, Art II Student at SHS

Salida Schools Arts Council will hold its 11TH Annual Spring Collage Show Fundraising Event on Friday, April 24, from 5 – 9 pm at Salida High School. The Spring Collage Concert is a community-wide event where students in the Visual Arts, Performing Arts, and Industrial Arts programs display and sell their artwork and perform. New this year, the spring Drama Production will take place after the Collage Show with three one-act plays in the auditorium. This is the largest culminating art event of the year!

SSAC will be asking for entry donations at the door since this is a scholarship fundraising event. Students will be selling K-12 art card packs, ceramic bowls, Ceramic fridge magnets, and mixed-media canvases with a spring theme, "Birds", by the HS Art II class, for silent bidding.

Many local professional artworks will also be on silent bid.  This year, artists who have donated to our cause are Shelby Cox, Brice Turnbull, Donna Wagle, Michael Clark, Leslie Jorgensen, Stacy Follet, Mark Rittmann, Tim Brown, Heidi Craw, Lex Johnson, Dania Pettus, Alison Manthey, Laura Donavan, Paulette Brodeur, Kerstin Stock, Four Winds Gallery artists: Linda Frances, JoAnn Holst, and Salida Arts Collective artists: Deidre Wilda, Shelby Cox, Lisa Louise Lindsey, Tara Flanagan, Jan Kraus, Sibyl Teague, Rod & Judi Linder, Sally Mather, Hannah Tidechild, Jim Smith, and Padget McFeely. There will be a lot of wonderful artwork for sale at different price points for everyone.

The money generated at the Spring Collage Concert goes towards  two $1000 scholarships for seniors pursuing a major or minor in the Performing or Visual Arts at the university level. The high school’s National Art Honor Society will run the event.  Please come and support the Performing and Visual Art students in the Salida School District. This is an art event you won’t want to miss!
