Lost and found items hang on the fence

Families of Longfellow Elementary-

I’d like to take a minute to welcome everyone back from spring break. The days have been beautiful and the kids have been loving their time outside. With this, I’d like to give a shout-out to the Longfellow Parents Association and a big thank you for their most recent project of lowering a couple of our basketball hoops. These new lower hoops have opened basketball as a recess activity to some of our younger grade levels. It’s been awesome to see the delight as they shoot and actually make it. Time and again, the LPA finds those little ways to make Longfellow better. I’m truly thankful for all they do.

Starting next week, students go into their annual swim lessons during their gym specials time. Students need to be prepared with their swimsuit and a towel. They’ll be transported to the pool and back on one of our district buses. Knowing it’s hard for parents to remember exactly when their child’s PE day is, we recommend washing and drying swimsuits/towels and putting them immediately back into their backpacks. That way, they’ll be ready for when swim lessons roll around the next week.

On top of swim lessons, in the weeks ahead we have field trips, special grade level presentations, state testing, and on, and on. Be tuned in to your classroom teacher’s communications to make sure you are up to date on all the spring happenings.

Thank you,

Cory Scheffel

P.S. Our Lost & Found is growing! Please stop by the school the week of March 31- April 3 and find any items you have been missing. Coats, gloves, water bottles, lunch boxes, etc. will be lining the fence by the playground.
