Families of Longfellow Elementary-
Starting next Tuesday, 3rd and 4th grade students will begin their Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) testing. CMAS starts in 3rd grade and continues throughout a student’s middle school years. You can help us by being sure your child is well rested and prepared. Having students start the day on time and stress free with a healthy breakfast is a great start. Keeping appointments out of the next few weeks helps us and the students avoid having to do make up sessions. Also, you can help by reinforcing with your student that they can do it and how proud you are of them. I’m continually amazed by all of our students, staff, and families. I know our kiddos will do great!
This past Tuesday, the Longfellow Parent Association held their membership meeting in the Longfellow Cafeteria. I’m often singing their praises for all the wonderful things they do for our students and school community. In the next couple of weeks, there are a few ways you can come out and support the LPA and have a little family fun at the same time. This Saturday, April 5th, they’ll be having a family movie night at the SteamPlant Theater at 3 p.m. They’ll be screening Mufasa and it’s a great opportunity to give your kids a big screen experience in our small town. On Saturday, April 12th, they’ll be hosting the Adult Prom at the SteamPlant. It’s open to all adults and childcare is available. Attire can range from shorts and flip-flops, to jeans and boots, to that dusty prom dress that has been sitting in your closet for all these years. Come out, shake it down, and support our wonderful parent association.
Thanks for all you do and your support of Longfellow Elementary.
Thank you,
Cory Scheffel
