Families of Longfellow Elementary-
“Art is too important not to share.” -Romero Britto. Yesterday morning, students' faces lit up as the building was transformed into the Longfellow Art Museum. Last night, family and friends were invited to tour the school and take in art displays created by kids from all grade levels. I could see the students beam with pride as they shared their masterpieces with family, friends, and the community. Inspired by artists, disco balls, boom boxes, masks, hearts, hands, and farms were all on display. We estimate that around 500 people were in attendance and over a 1000 pieces of art were displayed. I’d like to extend a huge thank you to Mrs. Everett for putting this event together and to all the staff who helped put up the art displays throughout the building.
The LPA sponsored run club is almost here! First through 4th graders are invited. Kindergarteners are welcome, but need a parent to attend and participate in all of the activities. Registration is capped at 30 students, so sign up soon to get your spot! It’ll be held Mondays after school from 4:00 - 5:00 pm starting April 28th and ending May 19th. Meet in the foyer of Longfellow after school to check in. All activities will take place on the grassy field at Longfellow. For Kindergarten parents, pick up your child from their teacher, as usual, and then come in through the front doors of the school to check in. If your student is interested, you can sign up here: https://www.zeffy.com/ticketing/run-club-spring--2025
Hooray! Other than a few make-ups, our statewide test, CMAS, is done. I am proud of our 3rd and 4th graders and the effort they put into this test and showing all they know. I want to say a big thank you to our students, families and teachers. This team is what makes Longfellow so great!
Thank you all,
Cory Scheffel
