Dear Longfellow Families,
The 2025-2026 school year is right around the corner. For our returning families, I’m excited to see you all again and to work with you to make sure our kids get the best possible education. For our new families, I’d like to welcome you to the Longfellow community. Day in and day out, we strive to meet our mission of “Every kid safe, every kid learning, and every kid loved”. Each one of our students is unique, with their own personalities shining through. In each one of those smiling faces, I see hope for the future.
As we enter the new year, we have a lot of new faces in our building. We’re excited for all the possibilities this holds as we continue to grow into the future.
Below are some important dates and notes to help you prepare for the school year. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Thank you all for being a part of the Longfellow family,
Cory Scheffel
Principal
Longfellow Elementary
Registration/Annual Update- The district utilizes a paperless document system. Please complete the annual update in Infinite Campus (IC) which allows you to update phone numbers, address changes, emergency contacts, etc. This link will get you started on the process: Infinite Campus. If you need assistance getting into the Infinite Campus Portal, select this link.
Once that step is completed, you’ll need to complete the annual forms that include the Field Trip Permission form, the Media Release form, and the Internet & Electronic Agreement. These are assigned in your child’s account under “documents need attention.” Throughout this process, if you need any help or need access to the internet, please contact the front office at (719) 530-5260 or swing by the office which is now open from 7:30-4:30 daily (we will be closed tomorrow, August 1st for a district training).
School Supplies- Supply lists are currently available on the Longfellow Elementary website: LES homepage. You can also find supply lists at teacherlists.com. On this site, the lists are pre-loaded into carts with retailers such as Walmart, Amazon, Target, and Staples. Finally, you can find hard copies of our supplies lists at our local Walmart store.
Thursday, July 31st, after 4 p.m.- Teacher Assignments posted- You can access your child’s teacher for the year utilizing our student data system, Infinite Campus.
