Families of Longfellow Elementary-
I’d like to start with a big thank you to the Longfellow Parent Association for their clothing swap last weekend. Lots of families were able to swap out their gently used clothing for some “new to you” clothing. It saves a buck or two for many of our families and helps keep some of the clothes our kids have outgrown out of the landfill. Kudos to them and the hours they spent to make this event happen.
Looking ahead, the chill is slowly starting to creep up on us. Please help out by making sure your child leaves the house adequately dressed for the weather. Also, keep in mind our entry times so that your child doesn’t have to wait outside for too long on the cold days. Doors open at 7:50 for those eating breakfast. Those not eating breakfast enter the building at 8:10.
This evening, fun abounds as 1st grade families are welcomed to our first music program of the year, “Pajama Party.” The program will take place in the Longfellow gym at 6:00 p.m. and is open to families of our 1st graders. Huge thanks to Ms. Giangiulio for putting together this incredible program and all the 1st graders for their hard work. I know the program will be exciting for all involved.
As a reminder: With the sun sitting low in the sky in the mornings, we continue to have close calls during drop off. Please have your child exit the vehicle on the sidewalk side to keep them away from traffic. Remember to drive slowly on the streets around our campus. Finally, utilize the circle drive for drop-off only. Please do not park along the curb as other families utilize this resource to drop their own children off.

Familias de la Escuela Primaria Longfellow:
Quisiera comenzar agradeciendo enormemente a la Asociación de Padres de Longfellow por su intercambio de ropa del fin de semana pasado. Muchas familias pudieron intercambiar ropa usada en buen estado por ropa nueva. Esto representa un ahorro para muchas familias y ayuda a evitar que la ropa que ya no les queda a nuestros hijos termine en el vertedero. ¡Felicitaciones a la Asociación y a las horas que dedicaron para que este evento fuera posible!
De cara al futuro, el frío comienza a sentirse. Les pedimos su colaboración asegurándose de que sus hijos salgan de casa con la ropa adecuada para el clima. Además, recuerden nuestros horarios de entrada para que sus hijos no tengan que esperar afuera durante los días fríos. Las puertas abren a las 7:50 para quienes desayunan. Quienes no desayunen pueden entrar al edificio a las 8:10.
Esta noche, la diversión está asegurada, ya que las familias de primer grado están invitadas a nuestro primer programa musical del año: "Fiesta de Pijamas". El programa se llevará a cabo en el gimnasio de Longfellow a las 6:00 p.m. Este programa está abierto a las familias de nuestros alumnos de primer grado. Un enorme agradecimiento a la Sra. Giangiulio por organizar este increíble programa y a todos los alumnos de primer grado por su dedicación. Sé que el programa será emocionante para todos los participantes.
Recordatorio: Debido a que el sol está bajo por las mañanas, seguimos teniendo situaciones de riesgo al dejar a los niños en la escuela. Por favor, pídales a sus hijos que bajen del vehículo por el lado de la acera para evitar que queden expuestos al tráfico. Recuerden conducir despacio en las calles que rodean nuestra escuela. Finalmente, utilicen la rotonda solo para dejar a los niños. Por favor, no estacionen junto a la acera, ya que otras familias utilizan este espacio para dejar a sus hijos.
