Students at Salida Early Childhood Center Playing with Wooden Train Tracks and Blocks

Wow, it is November already, and there are several wonderful things happening at SECC this month!  Family-led conferences are another opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher and to access any information, support, or resources you may need as a parent.  One of our primary focuses at the SECC is social and emotional wellbeing for children, families, and staff. Your child’s teacher will share how they help your child feel safe, calm, and loved.  Teachers will also share the importance of play.  Play IS learning for children. Research overwhelmingly indicates that allowing children to play is the best way to foster creativity and to build skills such as problem solving and critical thinking and for them to practice their emerging social skills.  All of these skills are crucial for future academic success.  Please join us as we embrace play at our school and in our community to give all of the children we love and care for the gift of joy in their childhood!
