2025 SECC Garden - four children help with planting of seeds in raised garden bed

Dear Families,

It's hard to believe that May is already here, and with it comes the mixed emotions that the end of the school year often brings. While our staff looks forward to a well-deserved summer break, we will genuinely miss your children and your families.

As a parent myself this year, I understand firsthand how bittersweet this time can be

with Huck preparing to transition to kindergarten and say goodbye to ECC. I'm more aware than ever of how quickly these early years pass and how precious they are. I also recognize the demands and stresses of caring for young children while navigating daily life.

Research shows that even just ten minutes of daily engagement in play with your child can significantly strengthen your connection and support their positive social and emotional growth.

Our Spring Family Conferences this month will offer a chance for our teachers to discuss the benefits of play further and share how your child participates in play at school.

Thank you in advance for your participation in these conferences. It has been an honor to partner with your family this school year. Wishing you all a happy summer!

With gratitude,

Theresa Gilson, SECC Principal
