I want to start the new year with a message of gratitude. Community engagement is a large part of our program, and I am grateful for all of the support our community provided this past holiday season to families and staff. Through combined efforts like the Tree of Hope, the Heart of the Community Christmas Drive, HRRMC’s Surgery Team, and the Chaffee Cares Secret Santa, many families received gifts, food, and clothing for the holidays. Nearly every day, we receive donations of warm winter clothing, ensuring children can run and play outside.  When many of our families faced difficulties accessing their SNAP benefits this past fall, the community responded with an overwhelming number of offers to help. Without the support of our amazing community, we really would not be able to do this important work!  I am not only incredibly grateful to work in Salida but also to be raising my own children in a community where we truly care for each other.   Lastly, I deeply appreciate the tireless work that Sheri and Chenoa put in to connect families with these vital resources.

Over the winter break our staff had an opportunity to rest and recharge, and we are thrilled to welcome your sweet kiddos back into the building.  As always, if there is something you need or if there is something we can do to better serve your family, please reach out.  Wishing you and your family a happy, healthy new year!
