Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

Welcome back to the 2024-2025 school year. We are thrilled to have your high schooler join us for a year full of growth, learning and memorable experiences. Our dedicated team of educators is committed to providing purposeful pathways which prepares individual students for college and career. We believe in the power of collaboration between home and school, and look forward to working closely with you to support your student’s educational journey.

Annual Update- Please update student information in  Infinite Campus prior to in person registration. If you need assistance getting into the Infinite Campus Portal, select this link.

In Person Registration Tuesday, August 6 8:30 am- 3:30pm:

  • Scheduled as follows:

    •            Seniors 8:30-10:00

    •            Juniors 10:00-11:30

    •           Closed 11:30-12:30

    •            Sophomores 12:30-2:00

    •            Freshmen 2:00-3:30

In Person Registration will include the following:

  • Help with Annual Update and SHS online school forms ( if not completed)

  • Receive Final Schedules from School Counselors

  • School Nurse available for questions and student health concerns

  • Colorado Mountain College representatives will be available to help with concurrent enrollment classes.

  • School Pictures: Students will be photographed for student ID’S. Purchase of school pictures is optional.  Picture forms will be available at registration. Retakes are tentatively scheduled for August 27, 2024

  • Purchase and receive locker assignments. Lockers will be optional for Seniors and Juniors. It is mandatory for all Sophomores and Freshmen to be assigned lockers. The cost of lockers for the 2024-25 school year is $10.00.

  • Food Service. A representative will be at registration to help with eligibility paperwork.

  • Salida Spartan Athletic Booster Club. membership sign up. Please consider Salida Spartan Booster Club. This is an organization with a big heart that helps secure much needed funds for student activities through fundraising and sales of Spartan gear and merchandise.

DOOR PRIZES: we will have some fabulous door prizes at in-person registration from Chill and Moonlight Pizza.

Important Dates To Remember:

In Person Registration Tuesday, August 6, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Sports Physical Night  Tuesday, August  6, 6-8 p.m. Salida Middle School Gym, All incoming SHS & SMS 5th-12th grade student athletes, Cost: $10 per student, cash or check. Parents or guardians must be present with each student. Physical forms will be provided.

Freshman Orientation Day - Friday August 9

Students should arrive at 7:50 and will be released at 12:00 pm. This is an important event for all incoming freshmen. A fun morning is planned to orient 9th graders to SHS. Breakfast will be provided.

Grades 10, 11, and 12 New to the District Students Friday, August 9

We will hold an orientation and tour of the building for new to the district students who are not freshman Friday, August 9th from 9:00-10:00. Students will receive welcoming information to ensure that they have a great start at SHS.

School in Session  Monday, August 12

Normal schedule: classes 8:00-4:00 all students

Back to School Night  Tuesday, August 20, 5-7 p.m. 

All Community members are welcome to tour the school, meet teachers, coaches and connect with club and activity sponsors. SHS Booster Club will provide dinner for all who attend.

Parent/Teacher Conference  Tuesday, September 24, 5-7 p.m.
