AD’s Remarks:
As we have eclipsed the halfway point of our Fall Season, we now begin talking about what it takes to finish the season stronger than we started it. As we do this, I am reminded of another Ancient Spartan Rule of Life. “Speed, strength and agility are less essential than stamina, grit, endurance, and courage.” October is where we start to see the teams and athletes who have Stamina, Courage and Grit starting to separate themselves from the pack.
One of the great things about Courage, Grit and Stamina, is that they are traits that we can control and practice. We don’t need to rely on lucky bounces or an officials call to determine our personal grit. We can’t blame anyone else for our lack of courage. These traits lie inside us and as Spartans we need to nurture these traits so they show up for us when we need them the most.
Question of The Week:
When was the last time you were with someone and wondered what they were thinking about but didn’t ask? What was it and why didn’t you ask? What do you think about that?
