Quote of the Week:

“It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.” – Sir Edmund Hillary

To the 100 some odd volunteers that stepped up to help make the High Desert Twilight Race a success! AD’s Remarks:

This week my attention has been focused on the limits we place on ourselves that also limit what others around us can do. One of the Maxims of the Ancient Spartans was to surround yourself with people who are ruthlessly devoted to becoming their best selves. It is great advice, to find a friend group, family or team who will push you to be your best is so valuable.

The flip side of that coin is that your family, friends and teammates NEED YOU to be ruthlessly devoted to becoming your best self so you can help drive and push them as well. Even though Sir Edmund Hillary conquered himself and his fears in order to summit Everest, he had to rely on others who were also conquering their fears and insecurities to summit that mountain. So my final words are to take care of yourself so we can take care and push each other to new heights.

Question of The Week:

When was the last time you scrolled through Social Media and saw something that made you feel worse about yourself? What was it and why did it have that effect on you? What is your relationship with Social Media?
