The Crest Academy students attended Keystone Science School (KSS) for one-night and two days from Feb. 18-19. They had the opportunity to cross country ski, sled, team build all while learning about animal adaptations. The two days were jam packed to get students fitted with skis and into vans to experience the terrain around Keystone and back to the campus for dinner and evening activities. Students performed skits, roasted marshmallows and even danced a little. It was two days full of laughs, stepping outside of their comfort zones and learning to stay warm under snowy, winter conditions as Keystone was receiving, yet, another storm.
Day two was blue skies and students had the chance to ski on the golf course track that sits adjacent to the KSS campus before returning their skis. During the trip, students encouraged each other and worked together. They returned to Salida Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 19 exhausted and proud.
